Our Company recognized associates and internal teams who have made outstanding contributions to supplier diversity success in its annual Partners in the Promise Awards celebration. June 10, the ceremony honored suppliers who have excelled in product delivery, quality and services. Overall, our Company increased the total amount of time spent with suppliers by 14.8 percent since 2012. Because of Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) Coca-Cola Refreshments (CCR), this is the first time our company has had year-on-year first tier growth, or spend that our company has directly with diverse suppliers.
Terrez Thompson, Vice President of Global Supplier Diversity, said, “One of the greatest benefits of this dynamic team is that I get to the firsthand experience of associates who are eager to make a difference. But this is just the beginning, and there is a hard work and a creative tension along the path. ”
TCCC's Diversity Contribution is to join the 'Billion Dollar Roundtable' (BDR) by 2020, in line with our 2020 Vision, by spending $ 1 billion directly with the divers suppliers in one year. We are leveraging our global footprint, with our 5by20 initiatives to empower five million women across the globe, to help boost our North America's diversity efforts and join the BDR. Spending $ 952 million with diverse suppliers in 2013, our company is making a strong progress towards this goal.
