Flying Hanuman is one-man-band DIY project. Originally created in 2012, after short time was put asleep. In 2017, Flying Hanuman was resurrected through busking performances on the streets of Europe. Now, the time has come and Flying Hanuman is releasing his first self-produced single for world to hear it.

This time Hanuman comes back as a devoted servant of music whilst exploring human (sub)consciousness and psyche. He explores the ways of connecting the mind, soul, heart and music.

Story of Hanuman (who is Hanuman?):

Part human-part monkey, Hanuman is a central character in the Hindu epic Ramayana. He is generally depicted as a man with the face of a monkey and a long tail. Hanuman, son of the Wind (Vayu), immortal Ape (gifted by Brahma), devoted servant of Rama. He is the symbol of strength and energy.

According to legend, Hanuman could enlarge his body at will, fly across the ocean, carry a mountain and burn down large parts of Lanka with his tail on fire.

Hanuman, the best of the monkeys, became the most faithful servant of Rama, an avatar (incarnation) of the god Vishnu (Narayana), and helped him in rescuing Sita, wife of Rama, from evil king Ravana, king of Lanka.

While still a baby, Hanuman, the child of Anjana (Vanara woman) and wind god (Vayu), tried to fly up and grab the Sun, which he mistook for a mango fruit. Indra, the king of the gods, strucked Hanuman with a thunderbolt on the jaw (hanu), thus inspiring the name.

His father Vayu, the god of the air, saw his injured son and was so upset that he withdrew his air from all living things. After that, god Brahma healed Hanuman’s jaw and asked Vayu to go outside again so the world can breathe again. In return he gifted Hanuman with immortality - “you can live as long as you want, you can’t be killed, you can’t be destroyed, nor imprisoned.”

Later, Vayu took Hanuman to lord Shiva, who revealed him secret of form transformation at will. Shiva’s white bull, Nandin, then taught him how to speak all languages in natural world, so there was noone Hanuman couldn’t understand.

Hanuman belongs to Vanara community. Vanaras are a race of monkey-like humanoids, possessing brave hearts and inquisitive minds.

The famous meaning of the word Vanara is Monkey but the literal meaning is “one who dwells in the forest and lives on that food that grows in a forest.” So, instead of considering him as a monkey why cannot we consider him as a forest dweller?

In spiritual context, Hanuman’s form represents our mind which is always on the move like a restless monkey but when it stabilizes and focuses itself it has the power as the might of Hanuman, hence lord Hanuman represents a focused and devoted mind.
