FROWN
The band was established in the autumn 1997 in Presov in Slovakia when the first demo piece FALSEHOOD was recorded (look at the review in magazine Metal Hammer/CZ). The key-board player
hasn't played yet in this demo piece. The demo hasn't issued in any firm. It was own cost for our friends and relatives.
The band has recorded its second track GIFT OF SUFFERING in Digital Studio Perina-Presov
in december 1998. There has already been the key-board player. Demo hasn't also been issued by any firm. It was our own cost.
During the years 1997 - 1999 there were some smaller personal changes on the post of the second guitar. First concert
(called The Frown) the band played in march 1998 in ABC centrum Presov. In the years 1997-1999 the band played a lot of concerts in Slovakia (clubs, festivals...) with the bands as: Behemoth, Krabathor, Gladiator, Barricade, Dementor, Typhoid,
Lux Occulta, Thalarion, Bizzare Of Brutality, Wayd etc.
In the year 2001 band released album Features And Causes Of The Frozen Origin in Moonstorm records/EFA from Berlin,Germany.Band plays concerts and festivals in Germany like : Herbstnachte in 2001,Wave Gotik Treffen in 2001 where play with MOONSPELL and GENITORTURERS for example, Protzen Open Air in 2002 and many more club actions.
In the year 2003 band released second cd Lunar Brightshine And Fiery Splendour again in Moonstorm records/EFA.
Band plays on club actions in Slovakia and Germany, in 2004 festival Saris Rock Fest in Slovakia and prepare new songs for the album Lovesinspain, recorded in 2004 and not released yet.
From 2005 band plays some club actions and always waiting for released day for Lovesinspain album, but label Moonstorm records dont communicate with band,answer for e-mails only sometimes, do nothing promotion for the band, always promises etc.
In 2007 band participates on Paljassaare Rock Fest in Tallinn – Estonia , where play with LACRIMAS PROFUNDERE ... and start searching for new solid label.
Year 2010 – the band leaves KAFI /bass guitar/ and his post replaces Marian Drac.
In 2013 Martin “Chemik” Porubsky rejoins the band after several years.
November 2015 - Jan Kolesar/guitar/ and Frantisek Zeleznik/drums/ left band.New members are : Lubomir Dzvonik – guitar and backing vocal, Peter Kertvel – drums.
Frown are : Marian Drac – vocal,bass, Lubomir Dzvonik – guitar and backing vocal, Peter Kertvel – drums, Martin „Chemik„ Porubsky – keyboard and backing vocal.
