The Last help is a Czech alternative rock band formed in 2019 by two grammar school classmates, Josh Starr and Chris Rodess, in Novy Bydzov. The unique sound of the band is based on three giants of alternative rock: Muse, The Strokes, and The Pixies. However, they are very open-minded to new influences from all genres of music, ranging from classical through jazz to techno. The current members of the band are Chris Rodess (guitar/vocals), Michal Paluchnik (drums), and Jan Prouza (bass).
In 2021, they released their first official single, "Echo of a Psycho," and have since been working on their debut album. In the spring of the same year, they recorded a single called "Fear of the Fearer," which was released in the autumn. However, in May 2021, Josh Starr and then-current band's drummer, Mark Pearce, decided to leave the band, and after two years of playing together, they parted ways with Rodess.
Despite facing difficulties in finding new band members, Rodess was determined to keep the band going and continued working on the album. In October 2022, the band formed a new lineup when Michal Paluchnik and Jan Prouza joined. They soon began rehearsing a new live set, and in the spring, they started to perform actively.
